Zoomat has sent a pair of resplendent quetzal to Xcaret park for a new free flight aviary that has just opened there. Dallas world Aquarium also has quetzal from Zoomat, but both of the birds they have are females and there is no plan for sending them a male. All this from zoomat press releases.
I would suppose that the difficulty for sending a male to DWA would be related to government restrictions on exporting such an endangered species, so let us hope that Xcaret does well with the quetzal pair they have.
