Chlidonias 30 Dec 2012 tree weta are a mid-sized weta (imagine a small mouse) - it looks bigger than it is because it is being held towards the camera. Males have massive jaws (and a vicious bite!!) hence the big head.

I saw them this year at Butterfly Creek (just by Auckland Airport next time you're on your way to Niue) and they are brilliant!
