Exhibit looks small but you are lucky to see one. I have never seen a live black footed ferret. I have seen a couple of exhibits (Fort Worth Zoo and SD Safari Park), but the nocturnal animals were hiding in their underground burrows. Those two exhibits are now used for other species, probably because visitors could never see the ferrets during the day. I wonder how many public black footed ferret exhibits there are currently?

I want to say that I've seen the species (or at least an exhibit containing a sleeping ball of fur) on probably 10 occasions. However, I know that some zoos have phased out the animals and yet I saw a couple on last year's trek (Dakota Zoo being one location) plus Abilene Zoo and Amarillo Zoo have both carried the species this year. Black-Footed Ferrets are a great conservation story but a poor showcase for visitors.
