It's actually called the 'Walk-through Alpine Aviary'. As well as the kea there are black swans, scaup, brown teal, paradise ducks, white-faced herons, Australian crested pigeons, ring-necked doves, and I think some others I can't recall. Last year there were also red-legged partridge in here, but I don't know if they still are. When the aviary first opened many years ago there was a young chamois and some harriers as well as the kea. Often it seems to be a sort of dumping ground for birds they're not sure what to do with (eg, crested pigeons have got absolutely nothing to do with the NZ alpine environment).
