Pleistohorse

Caribou Exhibit

This zoo greatly benefits from having a spectacular mountain range as a backdrop and without such a stunning panorama I'm not sure that the rather basic paddocks would stand up to much scrutiny. Is there snow all year-round?

The facility gradually improves. On bleak days it does have a bit of a farm/construction site/junkyard feel to it. The setting is spectacular and they do a great job of educating the casual visitor (provided the visitors read the signs). Snow is rare in June, July, and August. Variable in May, September, and October. Constant November through April. The surrounding hills will largely be snow free by summers end, however there are several hanging glaciers visible from the grounds year round (for as long as they last).
