In the winter 2012 issue of Zoo Grapevine (published exactly one year ago) there are 4 pages of reviews on a trio of Alaskan facilities. Quotes from the article in regards to Alaska Zoo:
"the enclosure for the Tigers being the best thing in the zoo"
"The Snow Leopards don't do too badly either"
"Another one for Grizzlies was rather more uninspiring, and whilst space wasn't an issue, things for the bears to actually do was an issue"
"Most of the smaller animals end up in corn-crib cages - again, not the most imaginative of styles"
Overall, the review of Alaska Zoo was hit-and-miss but slightly more on the favourable side; Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and its vast enclosures were not viewed with a lot of positivity; while a rave review was given to Alaska SeaLife Center, and the 4 terrific pages ends with a note saying "the best of Alaska is undoubtedly the SeaLife Center, a facility well worth the trouble of going to see."
