just to keep everyone abreast of things, the monkey in question has been identified by colobus on a more recent photo's thread (http://www.zoochat.com/1176/macaque-198903/) as a white-crowned mangabey. No wonder we couldn't match the Catoctin one to a macaque species :D

It does make you wonder about the Animal Kingdom Zoo, with their claims about serving conservation and education, that they apparently couldn't do even a modicum of research and discover what this animal actually is.

In Talli's defense, I went to this zoo this past August and some of the cages appeared like they were able to shift species around without changing the signs. The sign for what I believe they called the Grey Arm Macaque on their website said Barbary Macaque at the zoo. Although probably not the best conditions, they did have a pretty impressive selection of primates for a small private zoo, somewhere around 20 species. They also had Tapir that you could reach over a fence and pet(probably not the best idea now that I look back but pretty cool at the time!)

The Macaque in question is a Grey-armed Macaque, or Ochreata, or Booted Macaque. The Tonkeana or Grey-cheek Macaque is also found in the same island chain.
