Do Australasian zoo professionals ever lobby their governments (I think NZ is a s fussy as Australia) to liberalise their animal import/export rules?
Many macropods, wombats, short-beaked echidnas would surely be more commonly seen in Europe and North America if the red tape didn't get in the way, and maybe even koalas, kiwis and tuatara.
Or is that argument fallacious, and are other factors involved?
