Racoon

In Cat Canyon, the exhibit that formerly housed margay. Sadly margays and jaguarundis are a thing of the past (even though they still call it cat canyon and still list all four cats on their website).

Last summer I saw a margay, an ocelot, two bobcats and a gray fox here. Sad to see the diversity slipping to now include raccoons.;)

While raccoons are a denizen of the desert in their own right and perhaps deserve a spot somewhere at the musem (perhaps in the Riparian Corridoor area), I can't help but feel they are out of place in an exhibit called "Cat Canyon". Bring back the jaguarundis!
