Marsh Exhibit

Unfortunately, there are no animals in the exhibit. It is so beautiful, I don't see why they can't put a couple turtles in there?

Maybe so they don't eat all the local insects and other wild animals in the pond?

Why not add some native turtles?

The only native turtles are mud turtles, which are not likely to be seen in such a setup, although if memory serves they once had them in here. The museum plans on netting over this exhibit, which is the "Grassland Cienega" and adding songbirds.

This exhibit has since been netted over and is home to a Great Blue Heron. Not quite a songbird, but a welcome addition none the less.
