In the early 1990's this black bear exhibit also held gray foxes, which would have made for an interesting combination. Of course nearby Cat Canyon was also exclusively cats (bobcat, ocelot, margay and jaguarundi) which would have made our zoo nerd friend "Arizona Docent" salivate with delight.
