Trails Of Africa - Drawing

I read a recent press release stating that "Trails of Africa" will have 4 bull elephants in the habitat, but there still doesn't seem to be a firm opening date for the $12 million project. Does anyone know if there will still be mixed-species exhibits?

I have heard very substantial rumors from a highly credible source that it will be a mixed species exhibit. Don't know much more though.

There have been comments on ZooChat in regards to 3 elephants in the exhibit, along with 2 white rhinos, a hippo and various species of antelope rotating at one time or another. Does anyone have updated photos of Trails of Africa? Birmingham Zoo is an establishment that I widely panned in my 2010 review as there is a lot of outdated infrastructure but this development is similar to Giants of the Savanna at Dallas Zoo in terms of a large-scale, mixed-species habitat.

Looks like this exhibit has been open for over a year now - but no pictures in the ZooChat gallery. Has anyone on this forum actually seen it?
