Predators Building - Bobcat Exhibit

August 7th, 2010.
I wonder which project the zoo will tackle next? The Predators Building, Primates Building and Reptile House are all borderline awful and those three structures hold a substantial number of animals between them. The good news is that the zoo finally opened a quality exhibit (Trails of Africa) and attendance has been rising at a fairly consistent rate. In 2000 there were 335,000 annual visitors and almost every single year since there have been moderate increases and in 2011 the zoo was just shy of 500,000 annual visitors. Alabama's other major zoo, Montgomery, barely hits 200,000 annual visitors.

Short term plans

Finish Trails (Major Hoofstock plans)
Replace Cenzoo the lone Gorilla with Baboons
Replace the Predator building (all the small predators can be relocated to either Alabama Wilds or to other Zoos) with bigger expanded exhibits for the Lions (who have shown to be prolific breeders) and the Wild Dogs.

Birmingham is really all in with the Africa concept.

That is great news, and do you have any timelines for these projects? Where will Cenzoo move to?
