Similar exhibit is built each December on Old Town Square in Prague ... only a bed for a child is missing in Bronx =)

Somebody shoud tell the people at the Bronx-Zoo, that cattle are SOCIAL animals, ( never keep them alone ! )they need space and natural ground with shade and mudholes, grass ....

World Famous Bronx-Zoo, but I bet, this is an award winning exhibit.

If you look closely, there are at least two cattle lying down here but my opinion; atrocious! And I am appalled even further that this small space is supposed to satisfy more than one. I only hope they have a larger off exhibit space to feel something besides concrete under their feet.

With all the recent talk at the Bronx of closing exhibits and getting rid of several species, the decision makers should start with sending these poor creatures to other facilities.:( If this is how the rest of their Children's Zoo look's, then find the cutbacks needed right here by closing that area. The children, I'm sure having been one myself, get even greater joy viewing the other more exotic animals in much better(and larger) habitats.

From photos the children's zoo at the world-famous Bronx Zoo does indeed look quite disappointing, and hopefully there will be some kind of overhaul in the future. I didn't visit the children's section when I was at the zoo in the summer of 2008 because there was barely enough time to see the rest of the zoo and so I had to choose to skip the kiddie zone. The visiting hours were only from 10-5, and so 7 hours is just barely enough time to see almost all of the zoo.

put these cows in a guinea pig

How do you put cows in a guinea pig? :D (jokes)

They seem to have that exact mentality, I mean, they make a beautiful range of exhibits such as Congo Gorilla Forest and Jungle World and then simply construct poor, concrete pens for their domestic species as they do not have as much conservation value or awe about them to the public.
