Someone mentioned in a thread that one of the African antelope exhibits (kudu?) was going to be converted to rhinos. I think that the rhinos are meant to be permanent at the zoo, but not in their current exhibit.
Thanks David. The former antelope yards would probably be the former Blesbok or Arabian Oryx exhibits. It would be nice to see some White Rhinos in a nice habitat (my personal favorite species), and at least unlike the monorail, you'll be able to see the rhinos for more than a few seconds.
I, too, thought that the former oryx or blesbok exhibits would be perfect for these rhinos. I wonder what those workers in my other pictures were doing in the former elephant exhibit, though?
I don't think the Bronx Zoo will be acquiring takin anytime soon. It was brought up out of the blue by one member; no one else knew or had heard anything about it. One can't really hope for it if there's no evidence as to how legitimate the rumor is, but, still, I'm hoping!
