it depends on where one stands. New Guinea is biogeographically Australasian so tree kangaroos should definitely not be in a southeast Asia exhibit. However the western half of New Guinea is politically part of Indonesia, and so tree kangaroos could be included in a southeast Asia exhibit (because they are from Indonesia). My own opinion is that, no, they should not be considered southeast Asian!
ThylacineAlive, there are two species of Australian tree kangaroo (Bennett's and Lumholtz's). All the rest are from New Guinea.
