March 2nd 2013- The zoo has closed the amphibian display in zoo center. They have sent the babirusas and tapirs to other parts of the zoo. Currently heavy construction is taking place. The sign shows komodo dragon which is probably what is being held there. It has mor than enough space so it may hold the newly acquired galapagos tortoises to.

The zoo already has juvenile Volcan Darwin Giant Tortoises (ssp of Galapagos Giant Tortoise) in World of Reptiles. The new reptile species coming is Aldabra Giant Tortoises. The zoo has always held those two species- babirusa and tapir- in other places along with outside the Zoo Center (though I've seen the tapir there). I'd be pretty happy if these exhibits were converted for new species. If that's the case, one is probably for the Aldabra Giant Tortoises and maybe another is for Komodo Dragons, that'd be great! Shame they closed the Amphibian exhibit, I liked it. I did not noticed that sign when I went to the Zoo Center two weeks ago, must be new.
