When I came to the nyala enclosure, I found two big brown animals sitting on the rock behind the nyala herd, and I said to myself, "Why they look like lions?!" Then I was shocked to see they are indeed lions "in" the enclosure of nyalas :)

I once visited years ago and thought the only way to view the Lions was from the nyala enclosure and was a bit upset:p

What do you think of this enclosure? I personally think it's a bit too small though that may be because I've seen it with several adults and a few cubs in here at one time.

This exhibit was amazing when it was built in the 1940s but now sort of outdated and small in size. If they expanded it a little and added a glass viewing area it would be excellent.

I think it is a great design to let lions perch on the background rock of the nyala enclosure. The male lion was copulating with one female on the rock during my visit, and the nyalas were roaming in front of them, it is a fantastic scene~~
