They did! He died a few years ago. The one pictured is his 40 or 50 lb girlfriend. His name was Izzy A. Live because visitors often asked "Is he alive?" since he stood sill so often. At the time of his death, Izzy was the biggest alligator snapping turtle housed in an AZA zoo (and probably the biggest in captivity). He weighed more than 206 lb and had a 30 1/2 carapace.
