Even though the monkey house has been closed since last year many species are still held inside. They are exhibited in the cages outside of the Mouse House during the summer. I guess this means the zoo has no plans to use this building in the near future.
- The zoo said it was an evaluation of there exhibits. When you looked inside the building it was in need of a redo. There were no real plants or substrate. The zoo also said they had plans for the future. This most likely means a smaller scale madagascar type exhibit.
Whenever I'm tempted to criticise a zoo's accommodation or husbandry, I try to remind myself 'Have I worked with that species? How long and how successfully has this zoo been keeping them'. The Bronx has had Capuchins for a year or two (!), and I've never worked with them.
