Hehe .. was a pleasant surprise when I saw a pair of this species yesterday. Female is in this photo. The male is 5 years old according to zookeeper. Not plumed yet, but the two tail wires already growing.
I also saw one female Red BOP and pair of Lesser.

All three were in Bird house. Red and Lesser are inside the glass enclosure. Raggiana is in open enclosure (along with Great Argus, Bleeding-heart, etc) - after BOP's enclosure.
2nd floor Bird house is closed for renovation.

Cool about the cranes! The kiwi has been there since the end of 2013, though it's not really a Southern Brown Kiwi. It's a Northern Brown, no clue why it's labelled differently when even the zoo has referred to it as Northern in press releases.
Thats awesome. My last visit to Bronx before yesterday was in Nov 2013. I didn't see them at that time hehe ..
I was looking for Peruvian Pelican - Can't find them. 4 Great White Pelicans were in Inca Tern aviary instead X(

I especially enjoyed my seeing them because this guy was in there as this disappointed family was leaving and said "oh there it is!" when it wasn't there and then laughed, but guess what came out of its nest box literally as he left
The Peruvian Pelicans will be there now They weren't there yet afaik until 2014 as I visited in December 2013 and then again in April 2014. I've posted a photo of one of the pelicans.
