These can hardly be larger than any elephant you'd see in any zoo in your native England. However, I did zoom in very close, maybe that is what is fooling you?
Knowing beforehand that there would be no stops, what I did was to put my camera on 'Sports' mode, which means that I can shoot and shoot and shoot without any previews or pauses, meaning then that I can just look at the results afterwards and choose what to keep and what to erase. And believe me when I say that a lot were ereased.

This exhibit is easily one of the best Asian elephant exhibits in America and is one of the only ones to actually replicate their native Asian Forest. Hopefully Denver will change that in future. Looking from an aerial image though their barn is one of the smallest I have ever seen.
Does anybody know if the Bronx Zoo ever had African elephants and if so, when was the last time? I assume that they have only had Asian elephants for most of the last few decades because they live in Wild Asia.
