Geladas are getting more attention from zoos in the last years, a ot of European zoos are getting new enclosures for their baboons and now America is starting with them too. Geladas are really some awesome animals!
And as far as I know Bronx has imported some geladas maybe 2 or 3 years ago, to increase the US population.

I heard they imported some from (Switzerland?) a few years ago but didn't trust the source so wasn't sure.
Have you heard about any more recent imports to Bronx? I feel as though their male population has increased a bit in the past year though this could simply be due to animals that we imported earlier having been off-show.
Exactly, Bronx importet 2,3 geladas from Zurich in 2013. But really don't know if they importet some more, but the animals in Bronx are part of the EEP, the European studbook. So I would say that it should be much easier to switch animals.
