ThylacineAlive 27 May 2016 Not too familiar with oystercatcher variability but, based on photos from the internet, are the eyes and beak a bit too light to Eurasian? From the photos I looked at, they looked more red. ~Thylo

Chlidonias 27 May 2016 it's Eurasian. That's the only species which gets the white collar (not very obvious in your photo but you can see it showing). It isn't a North American pied because they have a yellow eye with red eye-ring (more or less opposite of the Eurasian).
