In the past I have often treated this exhibit harshly, and I see no reason to alter my mindset at this point. The gorillas have no access to the outdoors, and they reside on a mountain of manufactured textures while being looked down upon inside a noisy building. The bad news is that the orangutan exhibit in "Tragic World" is arguably worse!
The Brookfield Zoo's master plan includes a new outdoor gorilla exhibit attached to Tropic World. It appears that the indoor exhibit photographed here will also undergo renovations.
