There were none when I visited last year, the exhibit was empty and the signage was gone. According to Zootierliste, Szeged Zoo in Hungary imported them from Brookfield in 2014, so perhaps that was the whole group and Brookfield never replaced them.
If no regular visitors can confirm, I may be visiting within the month and will make sure to check.
Thanks, Coelacanth. I visited this exhibit in May and the vampire bats and all signage had been removed from the exhibit. There were also no brown bats in the Swamp exhibit any more. The only bats in the zoo were the fruit bats in the Australia House.
Upon yesterday's visit, a small sign related to the bats is still there as part of the larger narrative, but most of the signage and the alcove that included the bats' glass panel, has all been filled in - there's no other sign they were ever present.
