where is all the climbing areas?

you know, in the wild, they dont have massive man made climbing frames plonked in the midle of the forest. They have climbing things in their off show enclosuures and play rooms but not in the natural looking exhibit areas

This is true but their wild habitat would probably have more trees to climb than this! Why should they only be allowed to climb when off-show? I haven't seen this exhibit personally so don't want to criticise unfairly but this shot looks a bit like human aesthetics coming before what would benefit the animals. If real foliage won't stand up to the apes' constant attentions then I think there should be artificial climbing facilities.
