Morocco - American Alligator Exhibit

@geomorph: Do you know if there were ever actually African crocodilians of some species in here? The thematic incoherence seems pretty lame, but also pretty prevalent from what you observe in your review.

No I am not sure if there were. Judging from the railings in front, I would say this exhibit might predate the African themed area around it from the time when the park was not such an African-themed one.

I think this does illustrate a problem with thematic, immersion exhibits; eventually their usage will change and you end up with some fairly odd zoogeographical anomalies.

Granted, I doubt very much if it'll matter very much to the animals or -probably- the majority of visitors. It still seems a bit odd!!

I don't think this example supports your point. This has always been an American alligator exhibit. Busch Gardens has always displyed an eclectic variety of animals from around the world. There has never been any thematic consistency at this place (it's not even just a zoo).
