There are 2 similar sized indoor exhibits, holding 1 koala each.

They look a lot better then some indoor koala exhibits but do they have outdoor access.

Welcome to the world of cold-weather, northern zoos. Down under in Australia (and places like San Diego) the koalas have much larger, outdoor enclosures.

The picture might deceive some all too hasty critics; the indoor enclosure is quite roomy, and the koalas have access to an outdoor area in the warmer seasons.

I don't think the koala even minds being inside as he sleeps 20 hours a day, although it's always nice seeing koalas outside.

The koalas do have access to an outdoor area, but we never saw them out there, even though the weather was quite warm and sunny.
