African Savanna

Aug. 12th, 2010.
What species are in this Savannah Snowleopard? I can make out Zebra at the back and maybe Ostrich?

Zebra
Kudu
Ostrich
Warthog
Possibly wildebeast (not sure they are still there)
Also side exhibits for African elephants and African Lions

There are no more wildebeest, but definitely warthogs and the rest of the animals that you named.

To make a rather important note, those are Grevy's Zebra in the mix. Also there are impala, sacred ibis, crowned cranes, and guinea fowl (can't remember species, helmeted I think).

What's that in the middle-looks like an umbrella and awfully out of place. Dissapointing as it looks like quite a nice exhbit with a lot of species otehrwise

The USDA has been cracking down on shade structures lately. We've had to add some to the Giants of the Savanna. At the moment we are looking for a more natural looking alternative.
