I know people are moaning elsewhere about the over-architect-ed building - but the curve of that tunnel is wonderful. How good a view does it give? I can't work out if it would distort the view more than a 'normal' tunnel.

It is actually much less distorting than the inverted "U" shape typically used in these tunnels, because the primary lines of sight are through relatively flat planes, ergo less distortion.
One of the most amazing aspects of the view from this tunnel is seeing the bright above-water landscape from below water, occasionally including flittering Morpho butterflies--pretty magical.
The building architecture is stunning, innovative and memorable, but there is no question that the exhibits are largely overwhelmed as a result. And visitor flow through the complex is awkward at best. For half a billion dollars one would have hoped for BOTH great architecture and great exhibition/guest experience.

mmm same. there is a tv show called tanked on animal planet, if i remember right ATM did the instillation of this tank, though it was prior to the show. Acrylic Tank Manufacturing | Underwater Viewing
this tank was also used in an allergy medication (Zyrtec?) commercial as well.
