I remember this rotunda canopy from visiting a few years ago when the first new building was opened; is the new Ecosystems area in an entirely new building connected to the old one, or a short distance away? Does it share a new building with some other exhibits too?
It is a new wing, built onto the original building. Like adding an extremely large room to your house. An expansion which you access through the same museum entrance. Once you enter the Science Center, you actually go upstairs to visit the first few zones, then back downstairs again. Elevators and escalators are available of course.
