The Carnegie complex in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh is a grand series of connected buildings that consists of the Carnegie Library, Carnegie Music Hall, Carnegie Museum of Art, and Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Admission to one of the museums includes admission to the other, since the multiple galleries are adjacent to each other.

What did you think of this museum, geomorph? The dinosaur exhibit looks impressive from the photos - did you find it worthwhile?

I spent an entire day here, I am a museum junkie too! Dinosaurs In Their Time is a premier exhibit and packs about 4 galleries with what is probably the second most impressive collection and presentation of dinosaurs I have seen. (The Royal Tyrell Musuem in Drumheller, East of Calgary, is the best I think.) There is also a very impressive mineral and gem gallery and earth sciences gallery. The botany gallery is good but definitely hasn't been updated in its presentation style since the 1950's, along with the long narrow hallway primarily devoted to bird specimens. The halls of wildlife dioramas are good but I have seen better in multiple institutions.

The art museum part is even more extensive and really makes this combination museum a must-see when in Pittsburgh!
