Red-Billed Hornbill. January 4, 2016. Anyone know if this is a Northern Red-Billed Hornbill or one of the other split species? In an enclosure with Violaceous Turaco, Cape Thick-Knee, and Blue-Breasted Roller.
If it's a pure individual of any of the split species, then it is not ruahae or kempi (due to skin colour around the eye), and it's not damarensis (due to there being a darker area on the side of the head rather than pure white).
However it could be erythrorhynchus or rufirostris. I would also say it could easily be a mix of different species.
