Cheetahs have been exhibited in middle grotto of Tiger Canyon before. They were also exhibited in the current Mexican wolf yard. So the zoo moved the cheetahs to this yard after construction of the new wolf exhibit?
Yes, they were exhibited here after the construction of the wolf yard. African Wild Dogs lived in the middle grotto then. The wild dogs left and the cheetahs moved back to the middle grotto when the zoo expanded the elephant exhibit and built Sabu's yard. They built this little side yard on the side of the elephant barn to run the cheetahs in before they opened up the new facility in the parking lot. The cheetahs just lived in the yard between runnings.
