Cincinnati Zoo 2003 - Beautiful Sumatran Rhinoceros

Beautiful Sumatran Rhinoceros. It was too hot for the Sumatran Rhinoceros family to be outside on the day of my visit. Luckily for me, I was there in the company of a keeper, who managed to arrange a behind the scenes tour. I only got to see them for five minutes but those five minutes I will never forget.

Beautiful Sumatran Rhinoceros. It was too hot for the Sumatran Rhinoceros family to be outside on the day of my visit. Excellent shots though. This must be either Emi or the young Andalas I guess.

Anyone have any news on current plans with Sumatran rhino at Cincinatti?

I would be extremely angry if I came all the way to Cincinnati to see the zoo, mainly the Sumatran rhino, and it wasn't even out. Baldur was lucky to have gone behind the scenes, but to someone like me, that would ruin the visit.

that's the luck of the draw with animals. Maybe they're visible and maybe they're not. I reckon "disappointed" would have been a more appropriate choice of wording than "angry", and you shouldn't let the no-show of one species ruin your visit to an entire zoo.
