this isn't a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo, the sign says it's a Salmon-crested Cackatoo

Thats definatly a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo. Look at the beak color for starters.

This is most certainly a Major Mitchell's. The sign even said so when this photo was taken back in April. Perhaps they have since switched birds?

are you sure it was april, cuz the sign with the salmon cockatoo has been there for 2 years and the last time i went it said salmon and all of 2010, but also the website does say they only have mitchell's i did notice the color difference though
look at the date of the pic, might not help my defense

I'm certain that this photo was taken April 18th, 2011. Perhaps the species were just recently changed then? When was the last time you saw the sign? I'm certain that the sign said Major Mitchell's on that visit...

last time i saw it was last week

That's odd...It's also odd that the website only lists the Major Mitchell's. Perhaps the species rotate? What about the bird exhibit in the Children's Zoo that once held the Salmon-crested Cockatoos? When I was at the zoo in March it was empty and I didn't go to the Children's Zoo on my last visit because I was short on time. Perhaps they rotate between the two exhibits or perhaps the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo was only on this island for a limited time.

As I stated in the Cincinnati Zoo News topic, I don't know. I haven't seen them recently, but they're still on the website. The same goes for the Okapis and the Yellow-backed Duiker. I haven't seen them lately either.
