That's odd...It's also odd that the website only lists the Major Mitchell's. Perhaps the species rotate? What about the bird exhibit in the Children's Zoo that once held the Salmon-crested Cockatoos? When I was at the zoo in March it was empty and I didn't go to the Children's Zoo on my last visit because I was short on time. Perhaps they rotate between the two exhibits or perhaps the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo was only on this island for a limited time.
i didnt know they had a cockatoo exhibit in the children's zoo, perhaps it was in the current 3 rotating armadillo exhibit. Did you also know that they have a new Homing pigeon exhibit at the end of the nursery building?
As I stated in the Cincinnati Zoo News topic, I don't know. I haven't seen them recently, but they're still on the website. The same goes for the Okapis and the Yellow-backed Duiker. I haven't seen them lately either.
it starting to make me a little mad. also what made me mad was getting rid of the old okapi exhibit and merging it with the male indian rhino exhibit and its never on exhibit
Before the renovation they did. It was just a tree that the bird perched on. Is there a tree in the rotating armadillo exhibit? If so, that's the exhibit.
Yes, I just heard about the Homing Pigeon exhibit the other day.
I haven't seen the Okapis or the Duiker since they supposedly moved over to the other half of the bongo enclosure. The rhino that the renovated the Okapi and Red River Hog exhibit for is actually a young female, but I haven't seen her either. They have two female Indian Rhinoceroses, three exhibits, and only one rhino that ever shows, Nikki. However, I knew that they wanted to expand their work with Indian Rhinoceroses and were expecting a calf, so it didn't suprise me that they did what they did. It's just kind of a shame the Okapis were left in the dark because of it.

yeah the Six-banded Armadillo
Screaming Hairy Armadillo
Southern Three-banded Armadillo were all moved to there. They shouldve kept the way things were with the rhino reserve/african veldt. I think the okapi is the most unique animal there or was in my opinion. Do you wrk or do anything for the zoo? and any clue on the new cougar exhibit when it will be open this month?
@Jabiru96- No, we were just discussing the possibility of the two cockatoo species rotating on the island
@Cinzoo man- I do not currently work or volunteer at the zoo. I've considered volunteering, but I haven't found the time! As far as the cougar exhibit goes, last I heard it is supposed to open this month. I'm not sure exactly when.
