Currently the zoo has a single male Komodo Dragon.
This exhibit has really served as an all-purpose exhibit over the years! This outdoor yard as well as the indoor area were originally designed to house Chia-Chia the Giant Panda during a six-week stay at the zoo in 1988. In 1990 the exhibit was renovated to hold Komodo Dragons, which it did until around 2005 when their last dragon passed. Until 2010 when Dragons! opened, the indoor exhibit held Giant Anteaters, tamarins, and South American birds. Besides serving as the outdoor yard for the anteaters, the outdoor yard held Siberian White Cranes for a short period. Over the years this exhibit area has also held Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys and Koalas.
