This is a display of two passenger pigeons in an exhibit. First time I\'ve ever been in there and it is pretty interesting.

Thanks very much for the photos of the memorial. Hopefully they will have a commemoration of some kind in 2014 for the 100th anniversary of the passenger pigeon passing.:(

Does this display also contain the last two Carolina parakeets, "Lady Jane" and "Incas" that died in 1917 and 1918 respectively?

Just found this on the web. It stands as a monument to the stupidity and complacency displayed by so many legislators throughout the world:-

In 1857, a bill was brought forth to the Ohio State Legislature seeking protection for the Passenger Pigeon. A Select Committee of the Senate filed a report stating "The passenger pigeon needs no protection. Wonderfully prolific, having the vast forests of the North as its breeding grounds, traveling hundreds of miles in search of food, it is here today and elsewhere tomorrow, and no ordinary destruction can lessen them, or be missed from the myriads that are yearly produced."

If only they'd been right...:(

No they only have a large portrait of them. The rest of the building is made up of about 9 displays about conservation of certain endangered species.
