and the only place breeding them

If you want to learn all the species at the zoo that are on display and all the exhibits and the history of them, then check out my Cincinnati Zoo Wikia Travel page. If you would like to change something please tell me and I will.

I think you'll find Belize Zoo has them.

Considering Belize is on the Yucutan peninsula, it would be a bit silly for them to import rattlesnakes from South America, don't you think?
Which research did you look up? Which subspecies do they have?

Usually when I look for an exact species I type in the animal then the zoo name, and it is usually successful. I even looked on the website and it doesn't say.

The zoologico el centenario in Merida Yucatan does have this subspecies and so does the excellent Zoomat in Chiapas. Chapultepec Zoo in mexico city had a pair too. I would tend to agree with Hix on belize. I do not know if they breed them at any of these places. Information in the english language on latin american zoos is very inaccurate, it is amazing how strong the language barrier still is.
On the other hand, a global internet site like zoochat is a step in the right direction to correct this. Various posters have mentioned to me how species and individual animals i mention or photograph are not registered in english language sources

I don't know if they breed them at Belize either.

The Belize Zoo only displays animals native to Belize. If the website "doesn't say", how did you come to the conclusion it has South American Rattlers?

On second thought, don't answer. I might not be able to contain myself and continue arguing.

Cincinnati sent their baby Yucatan Neotropical snake born in 2010 to Atlanta last year. So now two zoos have them.
