Now in the Song Bird Section of Wings of the World.

Other species in the area are Bourke\\\'s parakeets, scarlet-chested parrots, gouldian finches, and blue-breasted kingfishers.

Originally the zoo\\\'s Reptile House in 1937, Wings of the World features over 50 species of feathered creatures from 15 corners of the world that fly and swim in lavishly planted aviaries and displays that provide habitats as natural as the outdoors. Birds from the Amazon all the way to the Antarctic Coast are displayed. Guests can see owls, macaws, bird-of-paradises, hornbills, parakeets, auklets, puffins and even three species of penguins. Seeing opportunities for zoo visitors as such include two walk-though aviaries, open-fronted habitats, and species behind glass with underwater viewings.

How large is this exhibit? It seems quite small from this photo.

I had a feeling you would be here;) It is about 3ft by 3.5 ft by 7ft glass tank. It had a much better exhibit in the grasslands display and I have no clue why it is in here, very disappointing.

I have a feeling that the kingfisher was not getting along with the other birds in the grassland display, and that is why it was separated. I would like to see it moved to the much larger aviary in Jungle Trails; I feel as if that aviary would suit it much better

And it would probably not bother the other birds because all of them are larger than the kingfisher.

3ft x 3.5ft x 7ft is barely large enough for a pair of finches, let alone a kinfisher. And this certainly does not look "lavishly planted" or as "natural as the outdoors" as stated in the first post.

I'm beginning to wonder why people always go off on what my short and sweet summaries say. I whipped all these up in about a minute. I would say 96.5% of the building (exhibits) looks all natural and if I had to compare it to another part in the zoo, it would be Jungle Trails.
