Some signage showing the connection between birds and reptiles would serve this display well. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the cockatoos and they are very friendly with public, but I would've much rather seen this area transformed into an outdoor enclosure for the Chinese alligators.
Do they clip the wings of these birds, or are they injured and can't fly because of it?
I really hate seeing photos of open topped parrot exhibits. It's something that I've never personally seen but clipping the wings of any bird that can fly just to keep it in an open topped exhibit doesn't really follow the philosophy of modern zoos in my opinion. I would even rather see flamingos and cranes in an aviary rather than a landscaped exhibit that means they can't fly.
