There were three on exhibit the last time I was there as well. Perhaps then the piglets have been born and are off-exhibit with their mother; If not then they must be due very soon. This year has been and will continue to be a wonderful year for hoofed babies at the zoo: a Bactrian camel calf, Grevy's zebra foal, eastern bongo calf, red river hog piglets, and an okapi calf have all been born or are due this year.

The yearly celebration of Zoo Babies really draws the general public to all corners of the zoo and brings attention to not only the young of the "abc" animals but the young of the more odd and bizarre species as well. I don't think I've ever seen visitors so interested in Malayan leaf katydids or hissing cockroaches as I have during Zoo Babies.
Speaking of Zoo Babies, more specifically hoofed babies, it's been over three years since we've had a Sichuan takin calf born at the zoo.... We were having a calf every year or so for a while, but now we haven't had one since 2009...
