You're comparing indoor orangutan exhibits as well? Then I assume that that photo of the indoor gibbon cage at Cincy is for orangs as well, and in that case, seems to small for orangs.

It is massive in the photo and in person. And yeah I was only talking about indoor exhibits, because outdoor exhibits is a whole different story. A ton of other zoos have better outdoor orangutan exhibits.

I'm very surprised to see Denver's on here, especially next to some of those other ones. I'm interested to know why this Denver's indoor doesn't compare to Cincinnati's?

Cincinnati's give a natural sense because it has real-looking trees and vines along with a mural of a tropical forest along with a rocky bottom while Denver's has none of that. It still is good though, I was just saying it doesn't match up to it.

I do not think Cincinnati's indoors looks naturalistic at all. From the pictures I prefer Denver's.

I know it's your opinion but I'm am very shocked to hear that. Denver's look kind of ugly while Cincy's does actually look naturalist minus leaves. Have you ever seen it before?

I have seen the pictures of both exhibits but not in person. Have you seen Denver's in person?

I understand your opinion as I have many too.:) Though I was just puzzled why Denver was posted in a group of below standard indoor exhibits. One thing to note is even though those giant tree posts look ugly, they are actually real. I think Cincinnati is a wonderful zoo, but it's too fake. Theres a fine line between "natural looking" and just plain artificial. No animal should have to live an artificial life.

I don't think naturalness has to make a good exhibit, all that matters is that it provides all the needs of an arboreal ape. And if you say that no animal should live an artificial life then you're talking about almost every animal that has lived in captivity.
