Zebras can be notoriously aggressive, and they often do not mix well in mixed-species exhibits - especially Grevy's zebras.
That why Pittsburgh zoo had to get rid of the zebras there were biting and kicking the springbok dama gazelle & ostrich. so they moved them into the giraffe exhibit and that didnt work. so they just sent them to wheeling's Ogelbay zoo where the grevy zebra female had a baby.

Another thing to is you are going to love this but why not include in the new africa exhibit the Bongos (which i never saw at the zoo in my 2 visits :(. )Okapi, yellow backed duiker & black rhino and add on to cat canyon or build something else in there old exhibits. another thing is the lions exhibit is right across the way so maybe connect that somehow to this idea. but i forgot bout the indian rhino so idk.

The bongos, okapis, and duikers were not included because this is an exhibit complex themed around the African savanna. The zoo is phasing out black rhinoceroses in order to focus on their two Asian species, and this is why the black rhinoceros is not included in this exhibit. Klyde, the zoo's lone black rhinoceros, was sent to the zoo from the Columbus Zoo in order to free up room for further breeding there. (Now without a breeding male, it will be interesting to see if Columbus continues with black rhinoceroses or if it will instead go into Indian rhinoceroses or Malayan tapirs.)

By the way in the new summer 2012 map, it looks like the bongos won't be seen this summer. :(

Are the bongos not shown on the summer 2012 map? The zoo has yet to put the summer map on their website. If they're not shown, what is in their place?

No, their exhibit on the map has nothing in it and the bongos aren't anywhere else. I hope they didn't move them to another zoo. Or maybe since their exhibit is closed off for the majority of the summer that the zoo didn't want to put them on right away. Just a thought.

Oh, that's quite strange... Hopefully the bongos have not left and will be put back on exhibit eventually.

The removal of the bongos from the map was a mistake; they are still there, but their exhibit is just currently inaccessible due to the Cat Canyon construction.

Bouncing off of my comment from last year regarding the empty exhibit, I can now see what will be in there.
