A new species. The entire exhibit window was covered up with newspaper. However, the newspaper on the left, bottom corner fell off. I got curious, stuck my camera down by the corner, pointed up, took the picture, and got this.
Unless I'm mistaken, this bird is part of an established ex-situ population, having been exterminated in the wild by introduced Brown Tree Snakes. The species may or may not have been on public display before.

The Guam Kingfisher (T. c. cinnamominus) is apart of an established ex-situ due to extinction in the wild by the Brown Tree Snake. It has also been publicly displayed before. I've personally seen them at the Bronx Zoo and Smithsonian National Zoo.
