Another former Indian Rhino habitat after the loss of Nikki.
I guess these are nice, big yards for the birds. However, for visitors, it leaves something to be desired. It will be nice when the okapi and bongo yards are completed with their renovations.

I really hope it's ready by the time I get back. I think I now understand the reason of why the zoo does not have hoofstock; because the okapi and bongos are taking up their quarantine space in Africa.

This exhibit now contains a Grey-crowned Crane. If anyone was wondering why the zoo hasn't put Manjula (Indian Rhino) out into this yard (that combines with the one left to this) that has much, much more space than her other yard, it's because she suffers greatly from anxiety, and when they tested her in this exhibit she was in such shock from her new surroundings that she accidentally chipped her horn.

I was, indeed, wondering that for quite some time! It's a shame that she doesn't feel comfortable in the larger space... Hopefully they have a plan in place to fill these yards with something more fitting than the cranes and screamers.

I would love to see a bull GOHR in there!

Cincin would still manage to do fundamental reproductive research and AI on rhinos, just they would have a bull on site to make things stick!!!

This was the exact point that I brought up on the photo of Manjula herself. I whole-heartedly agree. I feel as though there was so much lost potential with the push for AI with Nikki, and I'd hate to see the same thing happen with Manjula.
