What you see is what you get with this photo and the cage is perhaps 4 times longer than the inhabitant with the bricks on the right-hand side representing the small holding quarters. I only uploaded 20 photos of the Clay Center Zoo (from my 20 day/65 zoo road trip) because that is literally the entire zoo! It is rather distressing to consider the fact that in a nation with so many great zoos and countless lush, natural-looking bear exhibits that this poor bastard is stuck in an antiquated cage.
What will visitors take away from this experience of seeing a highly intelligent animal in what amounts to a second rate aviary I wonder? That you can keep a bear at home in the garden as long as it has a run and a shelter? Because this is what it looks like to me.
