My personal favorite exhibit at the Cleveland Zoo. We have one of the best black rhino breeding programs in America, and also one of the most active groups of rhinos. They are really entertaining to watch, and one thing many people find surprising is that they use their pool 1-2 times everyday, so the chances of you seeing a rhino in the water are really high.
Although the exhibit isn't the most aesthetically pleasing it is perfect for the rhinos as there are numerous shady areas, lots of enrichment, and at least 3-4 mudholes throughout the exhibit. Our rhinos go out pretty much year round, and I have seen them outside with temperatures in the low 20's. They love to play in the snow, and it is one of the most amazing things to watch!
Bonnie and I both agree with you that this is one of the best exhibits at the zoo. While its not much to look at the rhinos really enjoy it and the breeding program speaks for itself. These rhinos also have one of the best keepers in the entire zoo caring for them.
